Aluu community forces the Omega Power Ministry General Overseer to shut down the OPM free specialist hospital over “marching ground” levies imposed by community youths/ leaders.
The Omega Power Ministry (OPM) has shut down the OPM free specialist hospital formally located within the Aluu community in Omuanunwo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. close to Uniport.
According to reports, the community hosts 12 OPM free estates, 1 free specialist hospital & 1 of the biggest free skills acquisition centres in Nigeria.
The hospital is said to be moved to Ogoni land but the exact community was not disclosed.
The G.O, Apostle Chibizor Chinyere, made it known to the public through his face book page, it reads;
” Breaking news… Property has been donated in Ogoni for free hospital. So OPM free hospital will be relocating to Ogoni”.
Speaking to newsmen at his residence, Apostle Chinyere said: ” With a heavy heart, I the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, have decided to close down the free hospital in Aluu community with effect from Sunday 5th July 2020 (today).
The very hard decision was taken as a result of some huge levies imposed on the hospital by the Aluu community.
“OPM free specialist hospital has saved so many lives free of charge. It will interest the public to know that from registration, antenatal, scan, delivery, drugs and postnatal services are free. This is a free hospital which does not discriminate”, the G.O Started.
The Apostle went further to narrate his ordeal with the community leaders before his decision to to shut it down, which proved abortive.
In his own words…
“I called some of their leaders, they said it is a compulsory levy, so I don’t have any choice than to shut it down”
“I feel sad for those pregnant women who have been using the hospital. I urge them to look for another hospital”
“Once we get a new location that is more friendly, we will come and relocate our equipment.
All patients have been advised to stop coming to the hospital” He added.
It is worthy of note the OPM free specialist hospital been been shut.
down indefinitely as the The General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said on Saturday 4th July, being Yesterday.
It was gathered that Besides the OPM free specialist hospital in Aluu community, OPM also cited 12 OPM free estates & one of the biggest free skills acquisition centres in Nigeria.
The community also enjoys free 12 hours electricity powered by a diesel generator around the community.
This seems to be the order of the day in most communities in the state as similar complaints has been given.
Such as reported by a resident in a certain Rukpokwu community. According to go the resident;
“Even Rukpokwu where I reside, they told one of the oil company that was giving the community 24hours electricity to stop giving them light.”
“They made it clear to the coy that they prefer money to light and that was how they put the community into darkness till today”
Another resident goes;
“That’s how a house of reps member donated free transformer to a community and the youths still asked for marching ground before the transformer could be installed for them.”
“That is so stupid as asking for marching ground for you to eat what someone has given you free of charge”
Someone also went as far as calling it a norm in the various communities in the state adding that they call it matching ground.
From street light to road construction, whenever a project is to be executed, some idiots that’ll be the end benefactors of the project will ask for stupid royalties/levies or you leave them to their suffering.
According to some source, most of these youth are always on the streets asking for the so called marching ground fees are backed up by the community leaders in the extortion of most developer in the state.
To the extent that the current governor once threatened a community that the project going on in their LGA will be taken to another if they ever become a nuisance to the contractors.
Little wonder even the law enacted under the leadership of the former governor Rotimi Amaechi, forbidding matching ground in RIVERS STATE seem to have no effect anymore. Meanwhile, the new state government cannot enforce its own laws.
Some well meaning indigenes and none indigenes of the aluu community are therefore calling on the current governor, to try as much as he can to put a stop to this as it is capable of depriving them of some major development opportunities.
What do have to say about this is of OPM Free Specialist hospital being relocated?
